  • Excellent lobster rolls, we had the cold and the hot and also had the crab cake appetizer. Service was good but little slow. All good though and we will definitely go back and try other things on the menu.

  • Hazel’s is alive, fun and bustling. Better yet, the food equals the best of any New England seafood joints. Everything is hot, fresh, and tasty. We started with the lobster Cobb and clam strips. Yum! Then the whole fried Bronzino, lobster roll and green beans (had to have something healthy!). All really good and authentic. Busy bar with great cocktails, fresh Guinness on draft and decent wine list. Reserve in advance. Note: no outdoor seating.

  • Came here on a crowded Saturday around 9 pm & service was amazing. Our server Michelle made sure my glass never emptied in a busy restaurant, & made great recommendations. I had the lobster roll, the Georgian bread & the peel & eat shrimp. All were good but the peel & eat shrimp needed way more old bay seasoning, was very plain. Would return for the amazing service & to try new dishes!

  • Great time spent for my birthday, everything was amazing. From outlets amazing waitress Michelle, to the fresh seafood. The drinks were great and tasty. What a great experience! I will be back soon!

  • Hazel's is by far the best restaurant in Birmingham. The entire staff, from hostesses to bartenders to wait staff is incredible. They are so accommodating and are always able to put us at a table to fit our stroller. They're also very little kid friendly with sippy cups and coloring menus. The food is incredible and always consistent and of course the seafood is always as fresh as it gets. We are so lucky to live a 5 minute drive from Hazel's. It's as good as it gets for a neighborhood restaurant.

  • This was the perfect place to share a last meal of 2024 with friends. With Heather crafting the best drinks and Michelle’s warm energy we truly enjoyed ourselves. We had the Oregon and California crafted drinks they were delicious. We started with oysters, and Caesar Salads, and fished with Salmon BLT, Fish and Chips, and Fish Tacos. We were all pleased and definitely plan to visit again. I wish the salmon had a bit more flavor or a different sauce to elevate the flavors more.

  • I’m not much of a seafood person, but Hazel’s in Downtown Birmingham definitely had some standout items that made the dinner worth it. The cheesebread, Caesar salad, and Wrecking Ball dessert were all excellent and memorable. On the other hand, the lobster roll and fish and chips were just okay for me and didn’t feel worth the price—but to each their own. The service was very slow, and our waiter had a hard time hearing us, though she genuinely tried her best. The ambiance was a highlight, especially the entrance with its charming nautical and submarine-inspired decor. It’s a cute spot overall, but I’d probably stick to non-seafood dishes next time.

  • The food was excellent! I took my son out for lunch. We each enjoyed the Connecticut lobster roll. My son also had a dozen of each of the offered oysters. We shared the banana nut cake.
